Boeing 737 fire in Kazakhstan

Boeing 737-322 LY-FLB (msn 24667 built 1990) of SCAT sustained extensive damage in a ground fire at Aktau Airport, Kazakhstan on June 16. The aircraft had arrived at the parking stand from Astana, Kazakhstan, when after passenger disembarkation a fire broke out in the forward fuselage while the 737 was being prepared for its next sector. The airport fire service extinguished the fire with no reported injuries to the occupants. Unconfirmed press reports suggest the fire was caused by an oxygen cylinder exploding.
